Your IC is the deepest and most private point in your chart — the floor everything else stands on. This is home, lineage, the emotional climate you grew up inside and the one you unconsciously rebuild. Nobody sees this. It is where you retreat when you are done performing, what a room has to feel like before you can exhale, and the inherited story you are still either repeating or repairing. Everything visible about your life is built on top of whatever is buried here.
The IC is where your reserves are kept. It is the reason you can go back out — the room, the ritual, the person, the specific quiet that resets you. People with a conscious IC are extraordinarily hard to break, because their stability is not borrowed from their career or their relationship. It is structural. Whatever the world does to your Midheaven, this is the floor it lands on.
Unexamined, the IC runs the inheritance without your consent. You recreate the emotional temperature of your childhood house in every home you make, including the parts you swore you would never repeat, and you will not notice because it simply feels like normal. The other failure is retreat: this point can become a bunker, and there is a version of your life where the private world gets so comfortable that the public one quietly stops happening.
